In accordance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Judith Basin Press remains open M-F but doors are temporality closed to the public. Non-essential social and recreational gatherings of individuals outside of a home cannot exceed 10 individuals if a distance of six feet between individuals cannot be maintained following a decision by the state government.

Retail businesses have until March 28 to establish and enforce practices of social distancing practices to maintain a minimum of six feet between individuals. This currently excludes essential services like grocery stores, health care facilities and pharmacies; however these establishments are also encouraged to comply.

Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming has suspended delivery of Girl Scout Cookies. If you wish to receive Girl Scout cookies during this time, connect with a Girl Scout to purchase and have your cookies shipped.

Schools are closed across Montana to minimize the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). In Judith Basin, studies continue but are online. School closure was extended this week by Governor Bullock to April 10.

Stanford School lunches and breakfasts are still being provided and can be delivered. Although school has been closed since March 16, breakfasts and lunches are sill being provided to all students in Stanford who want them. In Stanford, lunches are provided through the rear door of the school by the kitchen (doors open M-F 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for that day’s lunch and breakfast pickup for the next morning). Families unable to pick up meals may call the school to make arrangements for delivery by calling Secretary Heidi Turek at 566-2265 or texting 366-1154 to sign up for meals.

The Montana High School Association has announced indefinite suspension of Spring Sports and will re-evaluate the situation on April 13.

State FFA will be in Great Falls has been postposed. It was scheduled for March 24 – 28.

Filing for school board positions closes today, March 26. For Geyser and Stanford Schools, as well as county positions, contact Amanda Kelly at 566-2277 ext. 109. For the Hobson School, Clerk Sherry Bergstrom at 406-423-5483.

The State Geography Bee is March 27. It will be held online due to precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Judith Basin County Commissioners meet every Tuesday. This is an open forum, and all public members are welcome to stop in (or call 566-2277 if they cannot stop in).
